Research Interests:

  • Ocean colour remote sensing (MERIS, MODIS)
  • Phytoplankton blooms
  • Water quality monitoring
  • Marine optics

Project:

Water quality and phytoplankton dynamics in the tropical coastal waters of Darwin Harbour and surrounding shelf waters from ocean colour remote sensing data.

David Blondeau-Patissier is a NAMRA post-doctoral research fellow at RIEL (Charles Darwin University), in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), CSIRO and the Aquatic Health Unit (AHU, NTG). His research interests integrate ocean colour remote sensing and marine optics.

His current NAMRA research project aims at investigating changes in water quality in Darwin Harbour and the Van Diemen Gulf shelf waters from satellite ocean colour data.
